Defiance

I am starting the show Defiance.  So far I am on episode 5 "The Serpant's Egg".  I'm enjoying the show so far.  I'm entregeaged by the story's beginning.  The idea that old St. Lewis is under the town of Defiance, named after a battle in the war.  Named for the "Defiant Few" who put down arms and saved civilians from the rubble, and now there are 7 alien races living on Earth.  As I said, I'm just starting the show and I find it interesting and the story lines compelling.  I hope you take the time to watch it.  Season 1 is on Amazon Prime.   

Sunday Post

Happy Sunday to all!  On this Sunday I'm reminded of things I'm thankful for.  I am thankful for coffee!  Yes I said coffee.  I'm also thankful for my blender.  If it weren't for my blender I wouldn't have iced coffee.  Enough of the silly, though I had to share the silly.  If we can't be silly, than what is the point of being on the Earth?  

On the Earth today it is Father's Day.  Happy Father's Day to all!  

To be honest, I'd never really seen the point to Father's Day until my husband and I where married and we had a child.  In my life, I'd never had a father to celebrate Father's Day with, nor did I have the experiance of having a "father" proud of me.  I had adult male role models, Uncles, Cousins and Grand fathers.  That' being said, I remember being jealous of my best friend growing up because she had both of her parents in the home.  That lack of relationship is hard, even in my adult life.  I can watch that relationship between my husband and our sons, but that kind of relationship is not something I can experience for myself, and sometimes it makes me sad.  However, I am thankful for all of the men who have been father-like in my life.  I love you all, and thank you for the love you've all shown me.

Well hello there! Welcome back. I'll go into the book I'm starting. A while ago I decided to buy a book by Greg Willits "The New Evangelization And You Be Not Afraid" from amazon. When ever I get a new book I have a habit of going though the chapters and titles or quotes. I admit that is as far as I have gotten in this book, but that is enough for me to recommend the book at this point. Greg Willits is also the co-author for another book I recommend "The Catholics Next Door Adventures In Imperfect Living" Greg and Jennifer Willits also host a podcast, The Catholics Next Door. I have enjoyed listening to them on their podcast for a couple of years now, they have been funny and informative. Their podcasts go back to when they where on Sirus radio and feature 1 hour snippets of their show. The thing I appreciate about Greg and Jennifer Willits is they are real people, they share not only their faith (With the title of their show The Catholics Next Door you'd figure faith has something to do with their show), they share about their children and family, and every day life from work to running a home. Reboot!

I have deleted what I had here and I've decided to do a reboot of my blog.  After looking at it as a whole, it was a complaint log, or a random diary entry.  I'll grant you, I am fairly random.  I am more than a series of complaints and random events.  I don't think I want to do a themed blog.  There are times I'll want to talk about a work out, other times I'll want to talk about parenting or the PTA, religion, faith and spirituality, I love talking about books I'm reading, old and new, I love talking about and watching scifi. 

So far in my life, I'm a stay at home wife and mom who is currently on the PTA.  I've worked in theatre as a light and sound technition and as stage manager.  I feel like a mini-expert in California special education law as it pertains to autism and how to help parents to advocate for their children in an IEP setting, at least in the elementry and middle school setting.  I enjoy shopping at Thinkgeek and playing with my children and my cat.

I'm thinking that this is all for now.  I just wanted to introduce myself, or reintroduce myself, maybe you'll read and maybe you wont.  Either way it's something new for me to work at.
